Brazilian media outlet O Globo has learned that Liverpool have submitted an official proposal for Santos youngster Rodrygo.
The Reds believe that the 17-year-old has the potential to develop into a world-class forward and they are keen to secure his services before other interested sides have time to act.
Rodrygo is widely regarded as club’s hottest prospect since Neymar, and he will soon be promoted to the first team set-up.
Santos are determined to keep hold of their prized asset, but they probably will not be able to resist a big money offer for his services.
However, the Brazilian giants believe his price will increase considerably once he starts proving his worth at senior level, and they will probably wait some more before cashing in on Rodrygo.
His suitors Liverpool have slipped to fifth after the 3-1 loss to Leicester City and are now 11/10 chance for a top 4 finish.
