Leicester City have submitted a big money offer for West Bromwich defender Jonny Evans, according to BBC Sport.

The former Manchester United stopper has been in high demand of late, with Man City having two bids rejected for his services, the highest being £18 million.

And while the Citizens have yet to return with an improved offer, Leicester City have now made a £23 million bid for the Northern Ireland international.

Despite splashing out on Harry Maguire, the Foxes conceded six goals in first three Premier League fixtures, and they apparently see Evans as a good long-term replacement for captain Wes Morgan.

Jonny Evans made a total of 61 Premier League appearances for the Baggies since joining from Manchester United two years ago.

He has yet to feature this season due to injury problems, but he was called into Northern Ireland squad for World Cup qualifiers vs San Marino and Czech Republic.
