KompanyManchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has received some mixed news on injury front ahead of a very important period for the Etihad outfit.

Having closed the gap behind Premier League leaders Chelsea to six points, the Citizens face Sunderland away this evening, and they are 1.55 (5/9) to emerge victorious.

Manchester City then host Everton at the weekend before facing Roma on the road in a crucial Champions League fixture.

Captain Vincent Kompany has picked up a muscle injury in the worst possible time and he has already been ruled out of the games against Sunderland and Everton.

Manuel Pellegrini hopes to have him back for the Roma clash, while there have been more positive news on David Silva’s situation.

“How his injury will improve in the next seven days depends on the degree of muscle injury,” said Pellegrini. “It is difficult to know at this moment.

“David is improving and we will see on Thursday if he can be in the squad for Everton. I’m not sure – I think it’s difficult.”
