Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has moved to confirm his interest in Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.

The Welshman has been linked with a move away from Santuago Bernabeu of late, with the Red Devils reportedly one of his suitors.

Speaking ahead of the UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid, Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho confirmed he would like to get reunited with Bale at Old Trafford.

“If he plays, it is the clearest signal that he is staying there,” Mourinho told reporters.

Mourinho said Bale playing in the Super Cup would mean “he is in the plans of the coach and the club, and it is in his own plans and ambitions to stay there”.

“Then I won’t even think about it. If he is not in the club’s plans and it is true that a player like Bale is at the departure gate, I will try to be there waiting for him at the other side.”

Online bookmakers seem to believe that Bale will remain at Real Madrid this summer, but he is also 2.75 (7/4) to join Manchester United.
