Hull vs West HamEven if their season could have started better, some stunning transfer deadline day signings should make Hull City feel confident ahead of the West Ham clash.

The Hammers secured several good deals of their own, and they are out to show some improvement after losing to Southampton at Boleyn Ground.

Having avoided the relegation tussle altogether last season, Hull City appear on the road to establish themselves as genuine mid table side and manager Steve Bruce has again received incredible backing from the club board.

While the Tigers had been pretty quiet in the summer transfer window, they fully compensated on deadline day, adding the likes of Ben Arfa, Ramirez, Hernandez and Diame to their ranks after Michael Dawson had joined from Tottenham.

And with most new signings already accustomed to Premier League demands, they should be integrated in no time, meaning there is plenty of reason for optimism at KC Stadium.

After crashing out of Europe, Hull City were defeated by Aston Villa, but they look a good bet at 2.20 (6/5) to return to winning ways against West Ham.

New signing Abel Hernandez is out of contention as he is yet to receive his work permit, while Andrew Robertson is doubtful and Robert Snodgrass is out for the season.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): McGregor – Davies, Dawson, McShane – Elmohamady, Livermore, Huddlestone, Diame, Quinn – Ince, Jelavic.

West Ham, too, had a pretty poor start to the new season, but the good news is there is plenty of room for improvement in Sam Allardyce’s squad.

The Hammers were somewhat unfortunate to lose the opening fixture against Tottenham, having missed a penalty and conceded in the dying moments of the match, but they quickly put the result behind them.

West Ham produced a very good performance to defeat then managerless Crystal Palace on the road, although they haven’t managed to build on that success.

League Cup defeat to Sheffield United and Premier League loss to Southampton proved Boleyn Ground was no longer and fortress, but there were some reason for optimism as well.

The club produced a major coup by signing Alex Song on loan from Barcelona, while adding Morgan Amalfitano to further improve the midfield department.

And with both signings expected to start at KC Stadium, the Hammers are 3.90 (29/10) to win their second successive game on the travels.

James Collins should return from a hamstring problem, but Carl Jenkinson, Matt Jarvis, Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll remain on the sidelines.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Adrian – O’Brien, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell – Noble, Kouyate – Amalfitano, Song, Downing – Zarate.
