Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson has revealed that he could return into action in the Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle.
The England international has missed last few weeks of action having picked up an ankle injury in the derby win over Manchester United.
However, it appears he has used the international break to fully recover from his problem, with the 29-year-old even hinting he would be ready for the weekend’s clash against Newcastle.
“Trained with the team today. Felt good and will hopefully make enough progress in time for Saturday!!!,” Johnson wrote in his official Twitter account.
Liverpool will be hoping to climb to the top of the standings for at least a couple of hours by beating Newcastle at St James’ Park, and the Reds are 1.91 (10/11) to succeed in their quest.
Brendan Rodger’s side currently sit tied on points with leaders Arsenal, but not too many people believe they can mount a serious title challenge this season.
