Sir Alex Ferguson has moved to praise his former player Louis Saha as Manchester United prepare for the trip to White Hart Lane.

The Red Devils travel to North London on Sunday, looking to stay close to title rivals Manchester City.

Sir Alex Ferguson is well aware of the threat his defence is set to face, especially if former Red Devil Louis Saha is on the pitch.

“He is a handful, no doubt about that. He’s got two great feet, he’s quick, he’s got a good spring in the air. He is a handful,” Ferguson was quoted as saying.

“Everton were happy to let him go. And then he goes to Spurs and scores two goals. That’s typical of Louis. He’s got tremendous talent, he just doesn’t play enough.”

Saha has now scored three goals in as many games for the Spurs, but Fergie knows the Frenchman is not the only Tottenham player who can cause them problems.

“They’ve got a fantastic squad, and a goal threat throughout the team. Gareth Bale contributes, Rafael van der Vaart, Defoe, Adebayor. They’ve got goals in their team.”

Manchester United are 2.50 (3/2) with Paddy Power to claim maximum points at the Lane, whereas the Red Devils are 2.65 (33/20) at Betfair to defend the Premier League title.
