Wednesday evening’s Premier League action from Goodison Park sees Everton host Newcastle United.

The Merseyside club go in to the game in twelfth place following Tuesday’s fixtures, and they will move into the top half if they win here and Watford lose at home to champions Chelsea.

They beat League Two side Carlisle United in the fourth round of the FA Cup after going four games without a win in all competitions, while their last win before that run was also against a side from the fourth tier – a 2-0 triumph over Dagenham and Redbridge.

New signing Oumar Niasse will have to wait for his debut, while injured duo Kevin Mirallas and Muhamed Besic will also miss the game though Tim Howard could play despite suffering a knock on Monday.

Top scorer Romelu Lukaku is 4.5 (7/2) to get the first goal of the game with a variety of firms, with Ross Barkley an 8.0 (7/1) chance with Coral.

The home win is 1.7 (7/10) with Sky Bet, with the visitors as highly priced as the 5.4 (22/5) on offer from Bet Victor. The draw can be backed at 4.33 (10/3) with Bet 365.

Steve McClaren’s side have just one win in their last seven league games, with the defeat to Watford last time out their fourth in six games.

They remain in eighteen place, but will climb out of the relegation zone with victory here, at the expense of Norwich City who were beaten by title chasing Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Andros Townsend is in line to make his debut for the North East club, while fellow new arrival Seydou Doumbia could also feature if he receives clearance in time.

Alexander Mitrovic is 9.0 (8/1) to open the scoring with 888 Sport, with Townsend a 16.0 (15/1) chance with the same firm.

A late Tom Cleverley strike was enough to separate the sides when they met at St James’ Park on Boxing Day though the nine meetings previous to that encounter saw at least three goals scored and you can back over 2.5 this time around at 1.67 (4/6) with Sky Bet.
