The Premier League returns this weekend, with Everton and Chelsea getting proceedings underway at Goodison Park Saturday lunchtime.

The Toffees currently sit in ninth place after taking five points from their opening four games, and could move into the top four – if only temporarily – with victory here.

However they have failed to score in four of their last seven league games, and in two of their last three meetings with Jose Mourinho’s side.

Roberto Martinez has a number of injury concerns, with Tom Cleverley, Leighton Baines, Tony Hibbert, Darron Gibson and Steven Pienaar all out though Brian Oviedo and Brendan Galloway could both be fit enough to feature.

Former Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku is widely available at 8.5 (17/2) to get the first goal of the game while John Stones, who was strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout the recently closed transfer window, can be backed at 51.0 (50/1) with a number of firms.

The home win can be backed at 4.2 (16/5) with Bet Victor, with the visitors 1/1 (2.0) with several bookmakers. The draw is best priced at 3.6 (13/5).

The Blues are a point behind their opponents having lost two of their four games so far this season – first at title favourites Manchester City and then last time out at home to Crystal Palace.

They are now priced at a 7.0 (6/1) to retain the title – the same price as Arsenal, with City favourites at 1.5 (1/2).

Oscar could return to the fold for the first time since the opening day draw with Swansea City, so Chelsea’s only injury concern is Thibaut Courtois who has a knee injury.

Diego Costa is favourite to open the scoring at 5.5 (9/2) with Coral, with Radamel Falcao a 7.0 (6/1) shot with Ladbrokes.

Three of the last four meetings between the sides have been decided by a single goal so you may be tempted to back there being under 1.5 this time around at 3.4 (12/5) while Everton and Chelsea can each be backed at 7.0 (6/1) and 3.3 (23/10) with Bet Victor respectively.
