Everton vs Arsenal Preview

Sunday’s sole Premier League action comes from Goodison Park where Everton take on Arsenal.

Victory over West Ham United saw Marco Silva’s side secure back-to-back league wins for the first time in 2019, and another triumph would equal their season-best run of three in a row.

They go in to the weekend four points shy of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who currently occupy seventh spot in the division, and with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in FA Cup semi-final action, they will be looking to close that gap.

That said, Silva could name an unchanged side, with Yerry Mina the only squad member ruled out through injury.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is priced at 7.5 (13/2) to open the scoring with Unibet, with Gylfi Sigurdsson an 8.5 (15/2) chance with the same firm.

The home win is as highly priced as the 3.1 (21/10) on offer from a variety of firms, with the visitors favourites at a widely available 2.38 (11/8). The draw can be backed at 3.7 (27/10) with Betfair.

The Gunners go in to the game on the back of Monday evening’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United, a result that extended their unbeaten run in the league to six games.

Their only dropped points in that sequence came in the North London, and with Tottenham Hotspur not in action this weekend a point would be enough to see them move up to third place, at least until Chelsea host West Ham United on Monday evening.

Lucas Torreira will miss the game through suspension and Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny are both injury doubts though Aaron Ramsey is available despite being substituted on Monday with a groin problem.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is favourite to open the scoring at 5.0 (4/1), ahead of 6.0 (5/1) chance Alexandre Lacazette.

Goals from Aubameyang and Lacazette helped Arsenal secure a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium back in September – the fourth straight win for the North London side against Everton.

The Gunners have scored at lease twice against the Toffees in eight of the last nine meetings, so you may be tempted to back them to do so this time around at 2.0 (1/1) with Coral.
