“We have to stay focused and we’ve got enough quality already. But the league is getting tougher.
“Teams such as Sunderland and Birmingham are buying players they wouldn’t have dreamed of signing three years ago.
“It’s not a secret that we would like more players – but there’s nothing we can do.
“It would be disappointing to lose Steven. You don’t want to lose one of your best players, but that’s football.”
