Diego Costa SpainChelsea striker Diego Costa has picked up a hamstring injury in the weekend’s 3-2 triumph over Hull City, BBC Sport has revealed.

The Brazilian scored a goal and provided an assist for Eden Hazard to help the Blues create a two-goal lead at KC Stadium that was soon neutralized.

Costa was forced to withdraw some fifteen minutes from time, with his replacement Loic Remy going on to score the winning goal.

The Spaniard is now set to undergo a scan to determine the extend of the injury and might not be available to represent Spain on international duty.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, however, does not appear to concerned with the latest developments.

“If he cannot play in the next game against Stoke in 15 days, we have Remy, we have Didier Drogba,” Mourinho said.

“We know his hamstring is not a strong one. He works hard in the week to compensate for the weakness he has there but the injury can come.

“He tried to play the Champions League final for Atletico Madrid (last season) and was injured again and again and again. He has this fragility.”
