Mathieu Debuchy injuryArsenal full-back has suggested that he might need a surgery to repair the ankle injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

The French defender injured himself after landing awkwardly some ten minutes from time and it instantly became clear he was in for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Debuchy has moved to reveal that the ankle is broken, while the decision on whether a surgery is needed will be made on Friday.

“No fracture but one broken ligament … I have to wait until Friday in order to know if I must have surgery,” the Frenchman wrote on Facebook.

The good news is that Jack Wilshere’s injury is not as serious as first thought and the England international should be fit for the weekend’s game against Aston Villa, where the Gunners are 1.83 (5/6) to claim maximum points.

The 22-year-old missed training on Wednesday after suffering the injury against Borussia Dortmund, but he is not considered doubtful for the weekend.
