Palace vs Sunderland

Monday evening’s Premier League action comes from Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace face Sunderland.

The hosts ended a three game winless run with an impressive 2-1 victory at Anfield last time out and sit in tenth place following the weekend’s other results though they will move up to sixth place with three points here.

Dwight Gayle will once again miss out as will Kwesi Appiah while Bakary Sako is a doubt though Marouane Chamakh could feature after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Conor Wickham is favourite to open the scoring against his former club, and can be backed at 6.5 (11/2) with Bet Victor while Jason Puncheon is a 12.0 (11/1) shot with Coral.

The home win can be backed at 1.6 (3/5) at Bet Victor, with the away win available at 6.5 (11/2) with a variety of companies. The draw is priced at 4.2 (16/5).

Sam Allardyce’s men, who sit in nineteenth place in the division, go in to the game on the back of back-to-back defeats – the latest of which came at home to Southampton just over two weeks ago.

Lee Cattermole is expected to return after missing the loss to the Saints while John O’Shea, who made a brief substitute appearance for the Republic of Ireland a week ago is also in contention for selection.

Steven Fletcher and Jermaine Defoe can each be backed at a price of 12.0 (11/1) with Paddy Power to get the first goal of the game.

Both of last season’s meetings between the sides ended in away wins with a Yannick Bolasie hat-trick inspiring the Eagles to a 4-1 triumph at the Stadium of Light in April while just over a year ago it was the Black Cats who took the spoils, winning 3-1 in the capital.

Both teams have scored in six of the last nine clashes between the pair, and you can back that outcome here at 1.95 (19/20) with William Hill.

Alternatively, with three of the last four games seeing at least four goals, you may be tempted to bet on over 3.5 this time around at a price of 3.3 (23/10) with 888 Sport.
