Christian Atsu joins Everton

Christian AtsuChampions League hopefuls Everton Football Club have announced on their official website that they have signed Ghanaian attacker Christian Atsu from Chelsea.

The Ghana international has joined on a season-long loan after impressing during the loan spell at Vitesse last season.

Atsu, 22, becomes club’s fourth signing of the transfer window, with Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry and Muhamed Besic all arriving this summer.

Christian Atsu made a switch from Porto to Chelsea last summer, but he was immediately loaned to Vitesse, where he went on to score 5 goals and produce 6 assists in 28 Eredivisie fixtures.

The youngster started all three matches for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup, but could not help the Black Stars make it to the knockout stages.

Having come close to a top 4 finish last term, Everton aim to secure Champions League qualification this time out and the Toffees are 8.00 (7/1) with bet365 to succeed in their quest.
