Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Saturday’s Premier League action rounds of at Stamford Bridge as league leaders Chelsea face a Tottenham Hotspur side looking to edge closer towards the Champions League qualification places.

With no other sides in the top four in league action this weekend, Jose Mourinho’s men can move seven points clear at the summit, whilst avoiding defeat would stretch the Blues’ boss’s unbeaten home league run at to seventy-five matches.
They beat Fulham at Craven Cottage last time out, with Andre Schurrle bagging a sixteen minute, second half hattrick, and the Germany international will be hoping to keep his place in the Special One’s starting eleven.

Eden Hazard is expected to feature after recovering from the minor knock he took on international duty with Belgium midweek, though defensive duo David Luiz and Ashley Cole miss out through injury.

Hazard who is 7.5 (13/2) with Bet Victor to open the scoring, with Schurrle a 9.0 (8/1) shot with the same firm.

The hosts are favourites to take all three points, with a variety of firms offering a price of 1.62 (8/13) with Spurs as highly priced as the 7.5 (13/2) from Coral. The draw is 4.15 (41/13) with 888 Sport.

Tim Sherwood’s men go into the game on the back of last weekend’s narrow 1-0 victory over Cardiff City, a result which moves them to within four points of fourth place Manchester City, though the Capital One Cup winners will have two games in hand over them following after this weekend.

Christian Eriksen is set to miss out with the back problem that saw him side-lined for Denmark’s 1-0 defeat to England, while defensive trio Kyle Walker, Younes Kaboul and Zeki Fryers all face late fitness tests ahead of the match.

After scoring his first goal of 2014 last Sunday, Roberto Soldado is 12.0 (11/1) with Paddy Power to get the first of the game here with Emmanuel Adebayor a 10.0 (9/1) chance with the same firm.
