All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as Jose Mourinho takes his Manchester United side to face Chelsea, the club who sacked him less than twelve months ago.

The hosts follow recent back-to-back defeats with two consecutive wins to nil, the last of which coming against champions Leicester City eight days ago.

Another win here would see them move level on points with fourth place Tottenham Hotspur and to within one of Arsenal and Liverpool while third place Manchester City host Southampton in Sunday’s early kick-off.

Antonio Conte could welcome captain John Terry back after making the bench last time out while Brazilian duo Willian and Oscar may also return but Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic remain absent with muscle problems.

Diego Costa, who has seven goals in eight league outings so far this season is favourite to open the scoring at 5.5 (9/2) while Eden Hazard is an 8.0 (7/1) chance with William Hill.

The home win is widely available at 2.25 (5/4) with the visitors as highly priced as the 3.75 (11/4) on offer from a variety of firms. The draw can be backed at 3.25 (9/4).

The visitors go in to the game two places and two points behind their opponents following last Monday’s bore draw with Liverpool while they go in to the game on the back of beating Fenerbache 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Chris Smalling will be assessed ahead of kick-off after he was substituted last time out with a muscle problem though Henrikh Mikhitaryan is available after recovering from a thigh injury.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 7.0 (6/1) to get the first goal of the game with captain Wayne Rooney a 10.5 (19/2) shot with Unibet.

Both of last season’s meetings between the sides ended all square with the corresponding fixture ending 1-1 back in February – six weeks after they played out a 0-0 at Old Trafford.

There has been fewer than three goals in all but one of the last ten clashes, so you may be tempted to back that outcome this time around at a price of 1.72 (8/11) with Betfair.
