The weekend’s Premier League action kicks off with arguably the game of the weekend as leaders Chelsea face third place Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

The hosts go into the match having booked their place in the last eight of the Champions League with victory over Galatasaray in the second leg of their last sixteen tie on Tuesday evening, though they lost last time out in the league, falling to a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa three days before their European triumph.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho could welcome back David Luiz, after he returned to the bench midweek, though fellow Brazil internationals Willian and Ramires are both suspended having been dismissed at Villa Park a week ago, while Ashley Cole remains doubtful with a knee problem.

Samuel Eto’o is favourite to open the scoring at 6.5 (11/2) with 888 Sport, while Eden Hazard is a 9.0 (8/1) chance with Bet Victor.

The table-toppers are favourites for the win at 1.95 (20/21) with Stan James, with Arsenal as highly priced as the 4.75 (15/4) on offer from Bet Victor, who have the draw at 3.6 (13/5).

The visitors edged past North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last time out to move to within four points of Chelsea, and will be desperate to close that gap furthermore ahead of their game in hand over the Blues at home to Swansea City on Tuesday evening.

Manager Arsene Wenger, who celebrates his one thousandth game in charge of the club, remains without a number of midfielders, with Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere all out but loan signing Kim Kallstrom could be included for the first time after recovering from a back problem.

Olivier Giroud is widely available at 8.5 (15/2) to get the first goal of the game, ahead of Lukas Podolski, who is a 12.0 (11/1) shot with Bet Victor.

The sides played out a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium in December, while Chelsea won last season’s corresponding fixture by two goals to one.

A home win with both teams to score can be backed at 4.25 (13/4) with Coral, with the away win an 8.5 (15/2) shot in the same market.

Alternatively, with the margins so narrow, you may prefer to back a one goal winning margin, which is 3.8 (14/5) with Ladbrokes for the hosts, and 6.0 (5/1) with Bet Victor for the visitors.
