Çağlar Söyüncü has finally completed his move from SC Freiburg to Leicester City.

The Foxes agreed a deal for the Turkish defender on deadline day for a reported £19million fee. He agreed to a five-year contract with the Premier League outfit but his move was blocked due to the failure to obtain a work permit.

However, the 22-year-old has now obtained the necessary paperwork to complete his move to the East Midlands and Leicester boss Claude Puel has revealed that he is looking forward to welcoming the defender into the first team fold at the King Power Stadium.

Ahead of his side’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Frenchman said: “He is a Leicester player. We are happy and wish him a good welcome.

“He will arrive tonight. He will not be fit for this game. After a little injury, he will come back into training.”

Leicester acquisition of the Turk makes it three central defenders to arrive in the Midlands this season. The Foxes swooped for Jonny Evans early in the window, before making deadline day moves for Soyuncu and Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic.

Evans missed Leicester’s opening day 2-1 defeat to Manchester United through injury.

The Foxes are priced at 5/2 to win to nil in their first home game with bookmakers BetVictor.
