Bayern keeping close tabs on Tottenham star

Eric DierBayern Munich have been watching Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier for weeks now and are ready to open talks with the Premier League outfit for a summer transfer to Allianz Arena, according to Bild.

Bayern Munich have sent their scouts to England in a number of occasions, but have particularly been impressed with Dier’s performance for England in the 3-2 friendly win over Germany when Spurs midfielder scored a winner for the Three Lions, but has also successfully shut down Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil.

The 22-year-old England international has been making steady progress since joining Spurs two years ago and has been a mainstay for Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino having missed just one Premier League match for Spurs this season through suspension.

Eric Dier is a versatile midfielder who can play in a number of position in the centre of the park.

The England international can play in both midfield and defence and it is believed that Bayern Munich want Dier to replace the 34-year-old Xavi Alonso.

Tottenham man alternated between right-back and centre-back last season, but has seamlessly moved into the holding position during the ongoing campaign becoming a key first-team member for title challengers Spurs who continue their run with a high-profile match against Manchester United.

Spurs are standing at the odds of 2.00 (1/1) @PaddyPower to beat Red Devils on Sunday and continue the push behind league leaders Leicester City, who are seven points clear ahead of Pochettino’s men.
