Friday evening’s Premier League action comes from Villa Park where Aston Villa face Manchester United.

Tim Sherwood’s side won their opening day encounter at newly promoted Bournemouth, with new signing Rudy Gestede coming off the bench to score the only goal of the game, so anything other than defeat here would see them top the division, if only until Saturday afternoon.

Despite his winner last weekend, Gestede may have to settle for a place on the bench once more while Jack Grealish and Carles Gil are both back in training but are unlikely to feature and Jose Crespo, Jores Okore and Gary Gardner are definitely out.

Jordan Ayew is widely available at 11.0 (10/1) to open the scoring, with captain Gabriel Agbonlahor is a 15.0 (14/1) chance with Bet 365.

Villa are priced at 6.1 (51/10) to take all three points with 888 Sport, with United favourites at 1.7 (7/10) with a variety of firms. The draw can be backed at 4.0 (3/1) with Betfred.

Like their opponents, the visitors secured a 1-0 win on the opening day, with a Kyle Walker own goal securing all three points for the 2013 Champions against Tottenham Hotspur.

All five of Louis van Gaal’s summer signings made their debut last time out and they look set to retain their places – most notably Sergio Romero, with David de Gea looking set to be left out of the match-day squad once more.

Their only injury concern is defender Phil Jones who is set to miss the next month with a blood clot in his leg.

Wayne Rooney is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 5.0 (4/1) with several firms, with Memphis Depay available at 6.5 (11/2).

Villa have won just one of their last forty-two games against the Red Devils when Agbonlahor got the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win in Manchester in December 2009.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended all square with Radamel Falcao cancelling out Christian Benteke’s opener at B6 just before Christmas while United ran out 3-1 winners at Old Trafford in April.

Both teams have scored in the last three clashes, and you can back this outcome this time around at 2.15 (23/20) with Betfair.
