Saturday’s game at Villa Park sees high-flying Aston Villa host an Arsenal side fresh for their opening day disappointment in the Champions League.

Paul Lambert’s side are currently unbeaten in the league, having won three and drawn one of their four games so far this season – securing a shock 1-0 victory at Liverpool last time out.

They sit in second place, just two points behind Chelsea though this game is the second of five consecutive fixtures against sides who finished in the top five last season.

Manager Paul Lambert, who this week signed a new four-year deal with the Midlands club, remains without captain Ron Vlaar, who is still struggling with the calf injury that kept him out of the win at Anfield while forward duo Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak are still some way of a first team return.

Andreas Weimann is priced at 11.0 (10/1) with Labrokes to get the first goal of the game, with Gabriel Agbonlahor available at the same price with the same firm.

Villa are as highly priced as the 5.0 (4/1) on offer from a variety of companies for the win, with the visitors favourites at 1.83 (5/6) with most firms. The draw is a 3.75 (11/4) chance with Ladbrokes.

Arsene Wenger’s side are also unbeaten in the league, though they have drawn their last three culminating in last weekend’s 2-2 result against champions Manchester City.

Jack Wilshere has joined the Gunners’ extensive injury list after turning his ankle in Tuesday’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Yaya Sanogo, Olivier Giroud and Mathieu Debuchy are also out, while Theo Walcott could return from a knee problem next weekend.

Danny Welbeck is 6.5 (13/2) to open the scoring with Paddy Power, with top scorer Alexis Sanchez available at the same price with Sky Bet.

Both meetings between the sides last season ended in victory for the away side, with Arsenal winning 2-1 at Villa Park in January, five months after Villa had won 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

With that in mind, you may be tempted to back both teams to score this time around at 1.91 (10/11) with William Hill who price an away win with both teams to score at 4.0 (3/1).
