ardaBarcelona midfielder has been subjected to transfer speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal.

Spanish media have suggested that the Premier League outfit could swap Mesut Ozil for three Barcelona players, Munir, Sandro and Turkey international Arda Turan.

The 29-year-old spoke to Spanish publication Diari Ara to discuss the possibility of joining the London-based club, taking the opportunity to mock Arsenal.

Arda Turan revealed that he would have joined Arsenal if he had not been good enough to play for Barca.

The Turkish playmaker adds that Barcelona were always in his plans, but he assumed he could always end up with Gunners if his qualities had not hit the heights the Catalan club required.

“I felt that I would sign for Barca. In all honesty I used to think, ‘If I play very well I will end up signing for Barcelona, because my style fits into this team’. If I play well, I will end up at Arsenal”, he told Diari Ara.

Arda Turan moved to the Camp Nu from Atletico Madrid last summer, but was forced to wait until January to make his debut for Barca due to an ongoing transfer ban.

The Turkish midfielder is finally enjoying his time at the club, having made an instant impression with Luis Enrique.

Turan has so far made eight La Liga appearances, scoring 2 goals in the process.

Barcelona playmaker will be hoping to make additional impact to the Catalan squad and help his team achieve success both domestically and in Europe where the Catalans are due to face Turan’s former club atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Luis Enrique’s men are 2.62 (13/8) @WilliamHill to lift the trophy at the end of the season and to become the first ever team to retain the Champions League crown.
