Another Spurs star pondering summer exit

In spite of the very good last season that saw them reach Champions League quarter-finals, Tottenham could be heading towards a real crisis, as captain Michael Dawson is thought to be considering his future.

According to The Sun, the England international is furious with club chairman Daniel Levy after being offered a meager pay rise to his current deal.

The towering defender has long ago established himself as a key player at White Hart Lane, but he still earns less than most of the first team players at the club.

That is why the player had requested a new contract, but was angered by the response he has received.

Chairman Daniel Levy offered him a pay rise of just £5,000 per week, which would still see him earning less than £40,000 per week, so no wonder that the player is pondering a summer exit.

Meanwhile, another star player Luka Modric is trying to engineer a move away from the club as he is desperate to join Chelsea, although Tottenham have rejected the latest £27 million bid from the Blues.

Taking all this into account as well as the fact that Manchester City and Liverpool look like genuine contenders for the top 4 finish, odds of 4.00 (3/1) offered by Sportingbet on Tottenham to finish in top 4 are definitely not worth taking.
