Andy CarrollWest Ham striker Andy Carroll is expected to miss next few weeks through injury, according to BBC Sport.

The towering forward received a blow to the back after coming on as a substitute in the goalless draw with Southampton, but had to stay on as the Hammers were already down to ten men and used up all three substitutions.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is hoping the injury is not too serious, although first signs suggest Carroll is unlikely to play again before March.

“He stayed up and was a nuisance,” said Allardyce. “I just hope that staying on hasn’t done any more damage.”

The striker has done well this season, netting 5 times in 14 Premier League outings, but his injury nightmare appears to continue.

West Ham have now failed to win any of their last three fixtures, but they are available at 4.50 (7/2) to beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
