Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad for October qualifiers, it has been revealed.

The in-form Spaniard striker suffered a hamstring injury in weekend’s defeat to Manchester City, and the problem proved more serious than initially thought,

Morata suffered a “grade II myofascial injury to the hamstring muscles” and he could now miss at least few weeks of action.

This will be a serious blow for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte considering that Morata has been in excellent form of late.

The 24-year-old already has 6 goals in 7 Premier League appearances this season, and he also scored an important goal in the Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid.

Following the 1-0 loss to Manchester City, Chelsea are priced at 10.00 (9/1) to defend the Premier League trophy.
