Adam Lallana EnglandLiverpool’s preparation for the new Premier League season have suffered a major blow as summer signing Adam Lallana picked up a knee injury.

The England international damaged his lateral collateral ligament while training with the squad on a pre-season tour of United States.

The good news is Lallana will not undergo a surgery to repair the problem, but he is set to miss around six weeks of action, meaning he will not be ready for the start of the Premier League campaign.

Lallana is likely to miss at least three Premiership fixtures together with England’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.

While staying with Luis Suarez, the Reds have done well to recruit Lallana, Lambert, Can and Markovic, whereas they are on the verge of adding Dejan Lovren to their ranks.

This means Liverpool can again be trusted to mount a serious title challenge, although they are no less than 12.00 (11/1) to lift the Premiership title.
