Premier League

Monday evening’s Premier League action comes from Stamford Bridge where reigning champions Chelsea take on bottom-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion.

The hosts go in to the game following back-to-back defeats having been beaten by Bournemouth and Watford in their last two outings and they haven’t lost three league games on the spin since October 1999.

A return to winning ways would see them leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur and go back into the Champions League qualification places and move to within three points of second place Manchester United, who suffered a surprise defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Tiemoue Bakayoko will miss the game after being dismissed after just half an hour at Vicarage Road last time out and Andreas Christensen is a doubt with a hamstring problem though Marcos Alonso could return.

Olivier Giroud is priced at 4.1 (31/10) to open the scoring with Unibet, with Eden Hazard a 6.0 (5/1) chance with Sky Bet.

The home win can be backed at 1.4 (2/5) with Coral with the visitors as highly priced as the 10.0 (9/1) on offer from Unibet. The draw is widely available at 5.0 (4/1).

After seemingly stopping the rot Alan Pardew’s men have lost their last two matches leaving them rooted to the foot of the table, five points adrift at the bottom and seven from safety.

Jonny Evans is likley to be involved after recoving from a back problem while Kieran Gibbs and Grzegorz Krychowiak could also feature after shaking off hamstring problems.

Daniel Strurridge can be backed at 12.0 (11/1) to get the first goal of the game with several firms with Jay Rodriguez a 15.0 (14/1) shot with Sky Bet.

Chelsea thumped West Brom 4-0 at the Hawthorns back in November – the third time in a row where the Blues have beaten the Baggies without conceding.

You can back that outcome here at 2.15 (23/20) with a variety of bookmakers while as three of the last four clashes have boasted at least four goals, you may be tempted to back there being over 3.5 this time around at a price of 3.0 (2/1).
