Premier League outfit Bournemouth are looking to bolster their midfield ranks with a marquee signing this summer and have identified the Napoli star Jorginho as one of their top transfer targets.

The Cherries boss Eddie Howe is a huge admirer of the 25-year-old’s talents and he even got a chance to see the Napoli star in action during weekend when Jorginho played 92 minutes in a friendly stalemate between the two sides.

Partenopei were a more dominant side in the 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium which once again put Jorginho in the focus. The player’s agent Joao Santos did confirm Bournemouth are keen on Napoli midfielder, but he also added that’s pretty much there is to the story.

“It’s true that the Bournemouth manager [Eddie Howe] likes him. There’s nothing more though. He’s growing, he could improve in coverage and in the attacking phase, maybe by scoring more goals.”, Joao Santos admitted on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

In the meantime, the British media suggest Cherries have had an offer for Jorginho worth £18 million rejected with Napoli keen to keep hold of the first-team star at a crucial period of the campaign when Partenopei are fighting their way through to the group stage of the Champions League.

The Serie A hot-shots are due to play French outfit OGC Nice in the Champions League playoffs and can be found at 1.33 (1/3) betting odds to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

The Brazilian-born midfielder joined Napoli in 2014 from Verona and went on to become one of the key players in the team.

Last season he made 27 Serie A appearances for his club.
