Bayern Munich have become the latest Bundesliga club to swoop for young English talent by lodging a bid in excess of £20m for Chelsea man Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to reports.
According to Sky Sports, the reigning German champions have increased their original bid, having seen an offer of approximately £13.5m turned down by the Blues. It is also reported that the West Londoners are holding out for approximately £22.5m in exchange for the youngster.
Borussia Dortmund are also understood to hold an interest in 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi.
He would not be the first English youngster to make a move to Germany in recent years. Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have also chosen to play their football in the country and have enjoyed success with Dortmund and Hoffenheim respectively.
The winger has so far made ten career appearances for Chelsea, with only three of those coming in the Premier League. His only Blues goal came in this season’s 4-0 win over PAOK in the UEFA Europa League. Hudson-Odoi’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to run until the summer of 2020.
Chelsea meanwhile take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon. The Blues can be backed at 3/4 with Betfair to secure three points on their travels.
