Here we go again.

The Catalan giants Barcelona have been admiring the 25-year-old midfield maestro Philippe Coutinho for a long time now as they continue the search for Andres Iniesta’s heir at the centre of the park.

La Liga heavyweights have already made several attempts to sign the Liverpool key man, but they keep getting the same response.

The Premier League club Liverpool are holding the ground firmly on their stance that Philippe Coutinho is not for sale at any price and are said to have calmly rejected the latest big-money approach from Barcelona worth €80 million.

Jurgen Klopp has reiterated the club’s stance on Coutinho while speaking at a press conference during pre-season tour.

“Yes [Coutinho is not for sale]. But that’s not since this morning or yesterday, it’s not been any different. Phil is a very important player for us.”, Klopp said.

Coutinho only signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool last season and with his contract running until 2022, Liverpool are in no urgency to sell or negotiate.

Barcelona have already explored a couple of options for their deficient midfield role but had little luck thus far. The Catalans were closely linked with a move for PSG star man Marco Verratti, but the response was the same one Liverpool sent in regard to Coutinho.

The La Liga powerhouse will have to look elsewhere to find a replacement for Iniesta and the reports claim former Tottenham man Paulinho is also on Barcelona’s radar.

The Catalans stand at 1.91 (10/11) betting odds to win the La Liga trophy next season.
